Impel Systems has completed the commissioning of a new control system for a water injection skid which operates a Bingham pump powered by a Solar Centaur gas turbine. Impel’s gas turbine control system included SoLoNox control for dry low emissions along with support for BAMs. We integrated water pump suction and discharge pressure control and speed control into the system. The latest Allen Bradley ControlLogix 558x CPU and Panelview Plus 7 hardware and firmware were used.
Impel sourced new instrumentation that was installed throughout the skid: including pressure transmitters, RTDs, thermocouples, vibration transducers, LEL detectors and fire eyes. The control system was linked to the existing station control system over Ethernet/IP communications along with the usual hardwired safety points for ESD and remote shutdown.
