Impel Systems has completed an HMI server upgrade for a Toronto based medical facility. The existing HMI and SCADA system consisted of eight separate systems from multiple vendors. Impel Systems consolidated all eight workstations into a single fully redundant server, hosting Indusoft Wonderware, Allen Bradley ViewStudio SE, and ABB SCADA applications. The opportunity was taken to consolidate applications, merging some together while maintaining others so that the client’s software licenses could be utilized in the most cost-effective manner. The Impel server utilizes fully redundant hardware which is invisible to the operating system as well as any HMI/SCADA software; allowing for full redundancy without the need for duplicate software licenses.
